cooking-with-herb-book-cutout.jpgIt’s hard to stand out in the current crop of Cannabis cookbooks — but “Cooking With Herb” has no problem doing exactly that. None of the others are written by Bob Marley’s daughter.

Wellness guru Cedella Marley grew up in Jamaica experiencing the restorative and spiritual properties of ganja firsthand. Now, she shows readers how to incorporate Cannabis into their kitchens.

The book invites readers into Cedella’s family kitchen for a taste of the vibrant Jamaican culture that is essential to her lifestyle. Each recipe features one of three herb infusions — canna-oil, cannabutter, or canna Vanilla Extract — to help readers cook party-friendly fare such as Grilled Jerk Chicken with Tamarind Barbecue Sauce and Sticky Sweet Potato Pudding, “the Marley Way.”

While hearty, comforting Jamaican classic dishes are a vital component of the book, Cedella also highlights ways to incorporate Cannabis into a natural beauty and wellness regimen, with scrubs such as Pumpkin Face Scrub and an Aloe-Hemp Exfoliator.

More than just a stellar collection of psychoactive recipes, Cooking With Herb is filled with practical information, beautiful photography and Cedella’s captivating stories of growing up with her famous father.

“Growing up, I was always surrounded by [Cannabis] — for me, the sweet whiff was as common as the aroma of Mommy burning the ginger and curry together in coconut oil for one of her famous one-pot stews,” Cedella writes in the introduction. “From the time Daddy was a small boy he always respected nature and the healing properties of plants.”

Cedella is the CEO of Tuff Gong International, the record label founded by her father in 1965. She also directs the Bob Marley Foundation, a nonprofit charitable organization.
